Dr. Saadat is one of the few doctors in Southern California who can install the only FDA-approved implantable device for obstructive sleep apnea. Known as Inspire Upper Airway Stimulation therapy, the small accessory is implanted in the patient’s neck and can sense when a person stops breathing. If this occurs, it provides a gentle stimulation to the tongue and other soft tissues to keep airways open throughout the night.

Sleep apnea is a dangerous thing and it is tremendously under-diagnosed. How do you know if you’re snoring? But there is another problem.

Let’s say somebody has said, ok I’ll wear the CPAP machine. If you’re like me you go home every night to the same house 365 days a year, yes, it is convenient to have the CPAP there plugged in next to your bed. But if you are in the military and you move around from place to place and have limited space to carry things you are going to carry a CPAP with you because it is too annoying and cumbersome.

So most people are looking for something that is just a one-time deal. They do it and get it over with and I don’t have to deal with it.

Unfortunately a lot of people think that the only treatment for sleep apnea is a CPAP machine. However, in the past 5 to 10 years there has been tremendous amount of new technology that we used to treat sleep apnea without wearing a CPAP.

The advances are obviously in the surgical procedure because the others have been around for a while. They don’t have the best success rate because most people they work and then people decide that they’re not going to wear their mouth device or the CPAP machine. Therefore they fail.

Surgery is considered a one-time deal that you do the procedure and once you heal from it you’re done and it fixes the problem, right? It is a so-called permanent fix so you don’t have to do things like the CPAP or the jaw device. The reason surgeries failed in the past was because we did not have a good way of evaluating where the problem is coming from.

In my next post, I’ll break it down and give you all the possibilities.

Before and After images showcasing the use of 5 vials of Sculptra, over a 25 month period, with a 42 year old female patient.

From Maryann L., Huntington Beach, CA
Maryann Lundstrom is a 55 year old female with bilateral nasal wall collapse. She was treated by Dr. Saadat with bilateral Spirox Latera Implants on April 12, 2017. This testimonial was taken 3 months post procedure.

Office sinus dilation is a minimally invasive option that can be performed in our offices. The goal of office sinus dilation is to reshape anatomy to expand sinus pathways and restore drainage. Dr. Saadat is a trained and experienced user of office sinus dilation technologies. Make an appointment today to determine if balloon sinus dilation is right for you.

Here’s How it works:

If you are suffering from a collapsed nasal valve relief can be ten minutes away via the LATERA Absorbable Nasal Implant. The procedure is done in our offices and leaves no visible scarring. It was designed to support the upper and lower lateral nasal, is absorbed by the body after approximately 18 months and eventually restores the natural strength of the nasal cavity.

LATERA showed significant quality of life improvement for nasal obstruction patients with lateral wall or nasal valve collapse, as measured by the NOSE survey. While individual results may vary, LATERA patients saw the following improvements:

Reduced nasal congestion or stuffiness
Less trouble breathing through the nose
Improved ability to get enough air through the nose during exercise or exertion
Reduced nasal blockage or obstruction
Less trouble sleeping

Patients experienced a reduction in nasal obstruction symptoms of 53.1% at one year, as measured by the NOSE survey. Patients got these results without negative cosmetic effects.
